About Theo’s Taxis
Our founder Simon Hayton, locally known as Theo, has been driving the area for 23 years. After a successful career managing teams in a local corporate setting, Simon decided he wanted to spend more time out seeing the countryside. Simon set out as an independent taxi driver and became quickly loved by the Kendal locals. Finding himself too busy, he expanded using friends and acquaintances in the local town he knew would bring the same level of customer service to the Theo’s brand. Theo’s expanded taking on school contracts, specialist vehicles, wheelchair cars and 8 seaters. Having spotted a gap in the market for food deliveries, Simon converted a van into a mobile delivery vehicle and taxi booking office – letting customers eat their food inside whilst waiting for a cab. Now-a-days, Theo’s has built an excellent network of drivers and cars – offering local services, tours, airport runs, wheelchair access and transport for visitors to the lakes.
